Welcome to The Herd.

THE STORY OF THE AFRICAN HEALING CENTRE

We believe that before a place can hold your healing, it has to be real.

It has to have dirt on its boots, stories in its soil, and a heartbeat of its own.

This page is not a polished corporate history.

It is an invitation to step through our farm gates, meet the family - both human and animal - and understand the living way of being that makes this sanctuary unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Take a breath. Slow your pace. You are welcome here exactly as you are.

As you step into our story, we invite you to move at your own natural rhythm. You can scroll down to read our story as a continuous journey, or gently jump straight to the chapter your soul is ready to explore.

CHAPTER ONE

The Story of the Sustainable Reset™

From an Intervention to a Living Way of Being

The Evolution of Our Work

When we first opened our gates, we called our work The Sustainable Reset™. We wanted to offer a framework that didn't just chase symptoms, but actually restored the whole person. But as we lived on this sacred Namibian land, worked with our hands, and walked closely alongside each of the courageous seekers who have stepped onto this soil, we realized something profound:

You cannot "reset" a human being like a computer. A computer is a machine; you are a living system. A true reset isn’t a quick button you press to go back to normal. It is a slow, beautiful returning to nature. It is an initiation into a completely different relationship with life.

So, while The Sustainable Reset™ remains the heartbeat of our work, it has evolved. It is no longer just a method we practice.

It is a living way of BEing - which we call The Culture and The Methodology of The Herd.

How We Be: The Culture of The Herd

At the African Healing Centre, we do not follow a set of sterile rules or clinical guidelines. Instead, we invite you to step out of the hyper-vigilant, isolated rush of modern life and enter a living ecology of belonging.

The culture of The Herd is the environment in which your healing naturally unfolds. It is guided by a very simple, earth-led principle:

"No one walks for another, but no one has to walk alone, either."

The Herd recognizes that every single member matters. Sometimes you will carry a heavy, exhausting weight and need the grounding strength of others. Sometimes, you will be the source of calm and stability for someone else. The goal is not to carry you forever, but to care for the health of the entire living system so that you have the room to soften, breathe, and move forward.

In this culture, there are no artificial hierarchies. Nobody is elevated because of a title, certificate, or age.

  • Goats aren't teachers because they possess knowledge.

  • Children aren't learners because they lack it.

  • Practitioners aren't authorities because they hold certificates.

Every living being carries its own wisdom.

Every relationship has something to reveal.

  • Goats belong,

  • Trees belong,

  • Your grief belongs,

  • Your joy belongs,

  • You belong.

The Herd doesn't ask you to change who you are; it simply invites you to drop the heavy armor and become more fully who you already are.

How We Work: Walking the Methodology of The Herd

If our culture is the environment, our methodology is how we move within it. It operates on a simple, natural law:

"Healing begins with honest observation."

You have probably tried programs in the past that promised to "fix" your stress. But trying to heal by simply masking your symptoms is like treating the dry, yellowing leaves of a tree while ignoring the dry soil at its roots. You can keep painting the leaves green, but the tree will still be thirsty.

We don’t start by giving you a pre-packaged solution or telling you what is "wrong" with you. We begin by observing the soil of your life. Because nothing meaningful can change before it is truly, honestly seen.

Our methodology follows this inevitable, natural sequence of evolution:

Observation → Revelation → Awareness → Choice → Responsibility →

Accountability → Ownership → Freedom → Space → Peace, Joy & Love

We Observe:

We pay attention to what is actually happening. Not just what you say, or what your logical mind thinks is happening - but the subtle tension in your body, the patterns in your relationships, your nervous system reactions, and the way the animals respond to your energy.

Observation Reveals:

When we stop trying to force a clinical interpretation and simply pay attention, the truth of what lies beneath the surface naturally reveals itself.

Revelation Creates Awareness:

What was once hidden in your subconscious can no longer run your life in the dark. Seeing creates possibility.

Awareness Makes Choice Possible:

You cannot choose a new path until you see the old one clearly. We don't want you to trade one set of rules for ours. We want you to see yourself so clearly that you can make choices that actually belong to you.

Choice Invites Responsibility:

You stop being a passive spectator in your life. You step forward as an active participant, choosing your own steps.

Responsibility Develops Accountability:

This is not about blame or guilt. It is the empowering recognition: "This is my life. These are my choices. I participate in what I create."

Accountability Returns Ownership:

Ownership is the willingness to stand fully inside your own sovereign life. You stop outsourcing your health, your happiness, and your boundaries to external systems.

Ownership Restores Freedom:

Real freedom becomes possible only when you take ownership of your path. You are no longer waiting to be rescued.

Freedom Creates Space:

And this is where the effort stops. Freedom creates wide-open room. Room to breathe, room to feel, and room to simply exist.

In that quiet, open space... Peace, Joy, and Love can finally take root.

Your Natural State: The Three Pillars of Your Living Alignment

To guide this deep observation, we weave our methodology through the three foundational pillars of your being. This is how the dry soil is nourished, and how true, sustainable healing is restored:

BODY

Reawakening Your Innate Intelligence (Spinal Flow™ Activation)

Life’s stresses and past traumas create physical blockages along your spine—the central superhighway of your nervous system.

Through gentle, somatic Spinal Flow™ Activation, we observe where your body is holding on, release the stored tension, and unleash your body’s natural, innate healing intelligence.

MIND

Activating Clarity and Purpose (Human Design & Subconscious Alignment)

The Mind pillar ensures your transformation is integrated into your daily life by acting as the bridge between your conscious awareness and your body’s wisdom.

True alignment is not found through willpower; it is found by listening to the body’s wisdom.

By decoding your Personal Energy Blueprint through Human Design and using gentle subconscious tools, we observe your unique energetic wiring.

This helps you quiet the mental chatter, stop the exhausting "hustle," and make decisions with absolute ease and clarity.

SOUL

Connection with Unconditional Love (The Therapeutic Herd & Sacred Land)

Our healing herd of goats holds a safe, deeply grounding space that requires no explanation.

As you walk the ancient bush paths and connect with the herd, their pure, non-judgmental presence mirrors your energy.

When you step onto our sacred land, you instantly access their pure, grounding vibration.

This culminates in experiences like The Goat Oracle Attunement, where they deliver clear, startlingly accurate messages that transcend logic and speak directly to your soul, help open your heart, release stagnant emotional weight, and remember what it feels like to be unconditionally accepted.

This is the core of The Herd:

A commitment to living in relationship with the whole of life—Body, Mind, and Soul—so you can stop surviving in isolation and finally reclaim a freedom that belongs to you. It is not a quick-fix intervention; it is a sustainable, lifelong way of being that ripples out into how you breathe, how you love, and how you stand in your own sovereign power.

CHAPTER TWO

The People Behind The Herd

Many Hands, Many Hearts, and a Shared Way of Being

An Invitation Into Our Home

The African Healing Centre was never created by one person alone.

Steffi may have carried the vision, but a living place is built through many hands, many hearts, and many different ways of being.

Some hold the animals.

Some hold the land.

Some hold the practical things that make everyday life possible.

Some bring food, laughter, and warmth.

Some quietly make sure that what needs to happen, happens.

And then there are those who have helped pave the path.

Our family is part of that story, too. And when you step onto this soil, you are not stepping into a commercial clinic or a sterile retreat center - you are stepping directly into the living ecosystem of our home.

Steffi - Founder & Visionary

Steffi is the person who first saw the African Healing Centre before it had a name, a place, or even a shape.

Her work is rooted in observation—seeing what lies beneath the surface, questioning what is assumed to be true, and following what life reveals. She is not a guru with a rigid script. She is a woman who simply knows how to listen to the quietest whispers of the body, the land, and the herd.

She brings together everything she has learned through years of study, lived experience, experimentation, healing, animals, Human Design, energy work, and simply paying very close attention to life.

She doesn't believe in telling you who you should become.

She believes in creating the safe, unhurried space in which you can finally quiet the noise and discover who you already are.

Her unique approach is grounded in lived experience, compassion, and a fierce commitment to walking beside others as they remember who they really are.

The Keepers of The Herd

Our goat keepers are an essential part of the living rhythm of the Centre.

They know the goats as individuals—their personalities, their quirks, their relationships, and their needs. They care for them every day, notice the subtlest shift when an animal is carrying tension, and hold the practical responsibility that allows the Herd to thrive.

Two of our keepers also serve as team leaders, helping coordinate the people and the daily rhythm behind the scenes.

Their work may look simple from the outside.

It isn't.

Caring for a herd is an ongoing conversation with life—a daily dance of mud, dust, patience, and deep presence.

Olaf - Holding The Practical World

Olaf keeps much of the Centre's practical world moving.

From logistics and maintenance to the countless things that simply need to happen for a place like this to function, he helps hold the infrastructure that allows everyone else to do their work.

But his role is evolving.

As part of his own journey within the Centre, Olaf is learning to work not only with the practical world, but with people too.

He is exploring Human Design in his own way and learning coaching approaches alongside Steffi, with the intention of becoming increasingly able to support the people who come here.

He is discovering what it means to hold space for you without needing to have all the answers.

And when you talk with Olaf, you will quickly realize that his grounded, practical presence is its own beautiful form of healing.

And that, too, is part of The Herd.

Sepp — Land, Hands & Home

Sepp is Steffi's partner and the person who can usually be found fixing, building, maintaining, or finding a practical solution when something needs doing.

He is part of the physical foundation of the Centre - the land, the buildings, and the things that make this place a home.

Much of what makes the Centre possible happens quietly in the background. It is in the wood he chops, the paths he clears, and the quiet safety he builds into every corner of this sanctuary.

And then there are the things that don't have a job description at all.

The shared meals.
The conversations.
The laughter.
The family moments.

The simple privilege of sitting together outside under the vast Namibian sky at the end of a long day.

Those moments are part of the Centre too.

Because before the African Healing Centre became a place for other people to come home to themselves, it was - and still is - our home. We invite you to share in it with us.

Lisa — Part of the Beginning

Lisa is Steffi and Sepp's daughter, and her place in the African Healing Centre is woven much deeper into its story than a job title could ever describe.

She has been part of building this place from its earliest days, helping shape the path that others will continue walking.

She brings food, creativity, warmth, and her own perspective into the Centre, and for the time she is here, she remains an important part of the living system of The Herd.

One day, Lisa will leave to build her own life.

And that is exactly as it should be.

The Herd is not built to keep people here.

It is built to give you the space to become who you are, and then follow your own path.

Lisa will always have a place here.

She will return home.
To her family.
To the land.

And, of course, to her animals.

Because some relationships don't end when life takes you somewhere else.

They simply continue from a different place.

A Family Behind The Centre

There is more family woven into this place than can be captured in individual profiles.

Felix, Lisa, Sepp, and the animals are all part of Steffi's life, and therefore part of the story of how this Centre came to exist.

Not everyone has the same role.

Not everyone contributes in the same way.
And not everyone needs to.

The Centre has grown alongside the family, through ordinary days, difficult days, celebrations, arguments, laughter, loss, learning, and countless moments that nobody ever planned.

Some of the most precious moments have had nothing whatsoever to do with "healing."

A meal outside.
A homemade pizza fresh from the oven.
A glass of wine as the African sun sets.
Fairy lights glowing in the branches.
Animals wandering freely around.
The people you love sitting beside you.

Sometimes that is life at its most sacred. And when you are here, you are invited to sit at this table, breathe in this peace, and realize that you don’t have to perform to belong.

And perhaps that is one of the things the African Healing Centre understands best:

Life itself is part of the work.

And Then There Is The Herd

The humans may hold many of the practical threads of the Centre.

But they are not the reason this place became what it is.

The animals are.

The goats.
The calves.
The dogs.
The cats.
The feathered friends.

The creatures who arrive unexpectedly, stay for a while, pass through, or become part of the family.

They are not decorations.

They are not props for an experience.

They are not simply animals that need to be cared for.

They are part of the living system.

They have personalities.
Preferences.
Relationships.
Boundaries.
Stories.

And, if we are willing to pay attention, something profound to reveal.

This is why we don't simply call them the animals.

They are The Herd.

And The Herd is not complete without them.

And it is not complete without you, either.

CHAPTER THREE

Meet The Herd

The Heartbeat of Our Living Ecology

The Herd Is Part of the Team

They don't have job titles.

They don't attend meetings.

They certainly don't follow our schedules.

And yet they participate in everything that happens here.

  • A goat may walk away when you need an answer.

  • Another may insist on standing beside you.

  • A calf may teach you patience.

  • A dog may show you where your boundaries aren't clear.

  • A cat may remind you that connection cannot be forced.

Sometimes an animal simply looks at you. And something shifts.

We don't tell you what that means. We invite you to observe. Because that is where everything begins.

The humans hold the space. The animals reveal the space. The land holds us all.

Together, we are The Herd.

The Mirror of Your Nervous System

You might wonder: why goats?

The answer lies in their extraordinary intuitive nature. Unlike humans, goats do not judge, analyze, or worry about the future.

They do not care about your past mistakes, your titles, or the heavy armor you wear to protect yourself.

They simply see you, sense your energetic state, and hold a safe, honest space for you to be exactly who you are in this moment.

When you spend time with the herd, you are not just looking at animals - you are stepping into a living field of energetic co-regulation.

Here is what your body can expect to experience in their presence:

  • A physical softening in your chest as a warm, sun-heated shoulder leans gently against your knees, reminding your nervous system what it feels like to be safe and accepted without conditions.

  • The rhythmic, grounding sound of their steady breathing and chewing, acting as a natural lullaby that coaxes your hyper-vigilant mind back into the dirt beneath your feet.

  • A sudden, unexpected release of laughter as their playful antics break through your heavy thoughts, reminding you that joy does not have to be earned or figured out.

  • A quiet moment of absolute clarity when an older, wise goat looks you directly in the eyes—gazing right past your defenses and speaking directly to your soul.

An Invitation to Connect

Every single member of our herd has a unique story, a distinct personality, and a specific medicine they carry. We have not written a generic list of descriptions because their individual journeys are too rich for that.

Below, you will find the faces of our beloved herd. We invite you to slow down, look at their eyes, and see who speaks to you.

Click on any photo to step into their world, read their true story, and discover the unexpected lessons they have taught us about healing, boundaries, and unconditional love.

Pay close attention to your body as you look at them - often, the goat your eyes are drawn to is the exact guide your nervous system is longing to connect with.

A one-of-a-kind sanctuary where the wisdom of the Namibian bush, the love of our healing herd, and the clarity of intuitive coaching unite to guide you on your journey back to yourself.
